Qavah Prayer Group

Qavah (pronounced k’var)  is the Hebrew word for ‘wait’ in the sense of waiting on the Lord.

It’s meaning has a number of aspects:

  • To bind together, as in twisting strands to make a rope;
  • To look patiently;
  • To wait;
  • To hope, expect, look eagerly.

We are encouraging everyone to become part of a Qavah Prayer Group.

The main purpose of the Qavah groups is to prayerfully wait on the Lord; to bring ourselves and our concerns before him, looking eagerly to and anticipating what he might do.

  • They will consist of 2 or 3 people who commit to regularly pray (we suggest weekly or fortnightly) with and for one another.
  • It’s up to you who is part of your group.
  • The prayer will consist of praise, listening and bringing to our Father the things on our hearts.
  • Church family matters needing prayer will be available in the Members Only section of the church website.

Sue H will be coordinating the groups.  If you establish one, we’d appreciate it if you could let Sue know.  She will keep track of what’s happening, but her main role will be to encourage and facilitate each of the groups.
